To our clients, friends, family, and supporters of Hyde-Edwards Salon and Spa. The team at Hyde Edwards Salon and Spa, made up of stylists, estheticians, and front desk staff, have collaborated to create a GoFundMe account for our beautiful salon.

Fourteen years ago, our fearless leader (aka “Boss Lady”), Rebecca Hyde-Edwards, created our amazing home. Throughout its history, the Salon has offered an incredible space for employees and clients to come together. It is a place of personal growth, education, and so many opportunities for stylists and our management team.

The Salon has had its ups and downs but nothing quite like what this year has brought. The entire industry has been critically effected by Covid19. Mid-March we began our first closure, which lasted for 10 weeks. Fortunately, during that time, Rebecca was able to secure financing to ensure the Salon could reopen when allowed. The PPP loan offered much needed relief and enabled us to reopen in June (at only 50% capacity.) Unfortunately, during this second shutdown, which began July 13th, no similar financing has been made available. The only option the government and State Board of Cosmetology has provided is to do dry hair cuts in our parking lot which isn’t sanitary and doesn’t even provide enough income to keep the Salon alive. We currently have no idea when salons will be allowed to reopen.

Throughout both shutdowns, Rebecca has done everything she can to help our team, including not charging any booth rent since she knows that her team is also in financial stress. However, the Salon still has all of its overhead, including the largest expense: rent (which is expected to be paid in full despite the Salon being closed). Every day the Salon is closed means a very real (and very sad) possibility that there will not be a space available for Hyde Edwards once it is allowed to reopen. Since this second shutdown, at least twenty salons have closed their businesses largely due to the inability to pay rent and other expenses.

The Hyde-Edwards’ team really wants to do something to contribute, especially since many clients have asked how they can help. We want a home to come back to and a beautiful place for our clients to enjoy. We are therefore reaching out to you for help. All of the donations will go towards expenses (especially rent) to try to keep our amazing Salon alive. Thank you so much for your support and helping us weather this storm.
