Save Our Church Building

Greetings,

My name is Overseer Dr. Merle Cann and I am the Pastor of the Ark of Christ Mission International in Brooklyn, New York.

In 2008, the congregation faced a challenge as they could no longer fit into their storefront church in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. With great faith and the Lord's favor, they sought to purchase a bigger space. With the contributions of their members, savings, lots of prayer, and fasting, they acquired their current building in Brownsville, Brooklyn. They transformed what was once a supermarket into a 200-seat edifice with a fellowship hall on the second floor, all with the hands of their members.

In 2010, tragedy struck when my husband passed away after a battle with cancer. On his deathbed, he implored me to "carry on with the ministry." With the support of the core group of members who remained, I have been able to continue leading the congregation and serving the community.

Unfortunately, the congregation is facing a difficult challenge. The building has been embroiled in a legal battle for several years, and the courts have finally settled. The congregation must raise $100,000 or risk losing the building. Our initial deadline was May 1st, 2024 but thankfully we have been granted an extension which gains us more time to raise the funds needed.

I and the congregation are reaching out to friends and family for help in this difficult time. We are putting aside our pride to ask for assistance, and any amount that can be donated will be greatly appreciated. It would be a tragic loss for the prayers and hard work of late husband, Bishop Robert E. Cann and the church community to be lost in this manner.
