️‍Life-Saving Surgery for Andy️‍

My husband, Andy Leahy, needs surgery urgently to prevent a recurrence of cancer. He was diagnosed with BRCA-positive breast cancer a year and a half ago, and needs breast surgery to complete his treatment. Without it, his chances of getting cancer again are frankly terrifying. Andy is a kind, selfless person — please help me save his life!

Why We Are Asking For Help

Andy is transgender, and needs a surgeon who has expertise in gender-appropriate reconstruction as well as oncology. Very few people have this background, and most of them have private practices and do not accept insurance. We have found a doctor willing to work with my insurance carrier, but insurance only offers partial coverage as an out-of-network provider, and the surgeon wants their whole fee up front regardless of what the insurance carrier does. We’ve been able to raise the majority of the cost of this procedure, but have fallen short by $8000, and Andy is running out of time.
