Hysterectomy & Endometriosis Treatment for Emma
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
My name is Emma, and I am reaching out to you today in hopes of raising funds for an upcoming medical procedure. I am scheduled to undergo a hysterectomy in February due to stage 4 endometriosis. While this procedure is not a cure, it will hopefully lead to a more pain-free, balanced life for myself and my family.
Asking for financial help is not an easy thing to do, but we are in a position where we need it. Despite having health insurance, we are still looking at up to $8,000 in medical bills (and possibly more). This is a significant amount of money for us, especially during these challenging times.
I have been struggling with endometriosis for years, and it has been impacting my life in many ways. It has affected my ability to work, spend time with my family, and enjoy the things I love doing. Going through with this procedure is not an easy decision, but I must move forward and take control of my health. Stage IV endometriosis can be described as "Deep Infiltrating Endometriosis," or DIE. According to EndoFound, "The other more extreme form of DIE involves organs both WITHIN and OUTSIDE the pelvic cavity. This can include the bowels, appendix, diaphragm, heart, lungs, and even the brain." At this point, all of my other options have been exhausted. I have tried every type of birth control, Lupron, Depo-Provera, two separate excision surgeries ("The Gold Standard" for endometriosis diagnosis and treatment), dietary changes, supplements, acupuncture, pelvic floor therapy, and more, mostly to no avail. I've spent tens of thousands of dollars on out-of-pocket expenses, missed work, and travel to and from specialists in other states, not to mention the emotional and psychological toll this disease has taken on myself, my husband, my family, and more. This is not to say I will give up on finding relief post-surgery, but at this time, my surgeon has suggested this hysterectomy as my one remaining option. Further excision surgeries will simply cause more scar tissue and pain.
Any help you can provide, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated. Your support will help me get the care I need and allow me to focus on healing and recovery, rather than stressing about how I will pay for out-of-pocket medical bills. Thank you for taking the time to read my story, and for considering a donation to my GoFundMe fundraiser.
