Hand Up, Not a Hand Out!
Life happens, and sometimes when we’re not looking, it catches us at the most in opportune moment! I began SV Gives one evening because I saw this very thing happening in my community, and I couldn’t sit and watch it happen. I felt ‘the call’ and asked how high do I need to jump? Without hesitation.
During this time, I’ve grown as a person and watched SVG grow, too. We’ve had our ups (which have been beyond amazing) and we’ve had our downs (which have been worrisome to say the least).
Balancing both life and SVG have been a challenge, but one I’ve accepted, and this is where I’ve learned and continue to grow as a person. I work so hard making sure everyone is getting what they need, to the best of my ability, that I forgot to look up to see the impact it’s made. I’m not in it for the ‘pat on the back’, the fame, or the recognition. I do it because it NEEDS to be done.
This is where things sneak up on you. Being so busy, that you didn’t see something coming-and you didn’t prepare. And sometimes, life has curveballs that you wouldn’t see coming, even IF you prepared.
This is where I ask for your help. I didn’t see the curveball, and I’m afraid that I will lose everything I’ve created. Your help means that we can keep going, keep our vehicles running so I can keep delivering boxes and picking up much needed items for those that can’t help themselves, so I can ensure we don’t lose our place, and that I can keep jumping-because that’s what I was called to do.
Thank you. Before I know you, before I’ve met you, thank you.
I appreciate you. To know you and to have metyou-and to know your story and to let me share mine, I appreciate you!
