Here's our situation and why we're hoping "GoFundMe" can help us accomplish getting assistance from family and friends to help a relative replace her roof and ceilings in her home.
Almost a year ago and after hurricane Matthew , our aging senior relative who supports herself with three part-time jobs contacted her insurance company about her leaking roof.
They sent in an adjuster who assessed the situation and immediately sent in workers to cover her roof with a tarp . They also punched holes in the ceiling to inspect for mold and allow it to dry out.
After a while other inspectors came in and determined that there had been previously applied "so-called preventive measures" done on the roof with sealants and decided that since this was a pre-existing condition; they would decline to pay for a new roof and repairs .
All this after seriously compromising her roof and leaving her with the roof covered with a tarp for almost a year now.
After exhausting all possible communication with the insurance company and adjusters she is left with this situation and it is once again hurricane season ,
We just came back from a visit to her home and decided we needed to help her out.
We are hoping to raise the $7500
needed to put a new roof on and fix the ceilings, she unfortunately cannot afford to do this on her own.
Anything would be appreciated ...
"Random acts of Kindness " are so needed for our senior citizens , with so many health and other issues going on right now in the country .
I believe the pictures speak for themselves ....
Please help us to help her.
Thank you for your kindness and donation to this worthy cause .
