I am deaf, help me and help the rest of my family

Hello everyone, my name is Nesma Krayyem I am 19 years old, and I am from Gaza. My family used to consist of five members, but now we are only three, as my father and brother, who were my pillars in life, were martyred. I am deaf and mute, and the only way I communicate is through sign language. I currently live in a small camp in Deir al-Balah after being displaced several times, walking on foot from Gaza to Rafah, then to Deir al-Balah on a perilous journey of 10 kilometers.

I am a gentle and quiet girl, but my world has always been filled with silence. Since I was a child, I have been unable to speak and have used sign language to communicate with those around me. My family was my small world: my father, my brother, my mother, and my sister. Despite the silence I lived in, I felt safe with them.

But war has no mercy, and one fateful day, everything changed. Our house was bombed, and in those painful moments, I lost both my father and brother. My dreams were buried under the rubble of our home. Now, I am left with only my mother and sister, trying to hold on to each other amidst this destruction.

After losing our home, we moved to a refugee camp, where we now live in a simple tent filled with pain and bitter memories. I would often sit in the corner, watching others talk, but I was unable to join them. No one in the camp understood sign language, and there was no one who could understand the silent cries of my heart.

My mother, who tried to remain strong in front of us, was suffering from grief and despair. The house that once sheltered us was destroyed, and my father and brother were no longer with us. But the most painful part was seeing my mother witness me living in this double silence: the silence of my voice and the silence of a world that doesn't understand us.

We are in urgent need of support and help. The tent barely protects us from the cold or the heat, and the food and water are barely enough. But the most urgent need is to provide a special environment for me where I can communicate and receive psychological therapy to cope with my loss and trauma.

Amidst these harsh circumstances, I have launched a fundraising campaign, hoping that my signal will reach compassionate hearts. I hope to rebuild my life, not just materially, but also emotionally, for the sake of my mother, my sister, and myself. This campaign aims to provide psychological and medical support for my sister and me, and to find a new home that shelters us, far from the tent that reminds us daily of the tragedy.

Despite all the silence and pain, I carry a seed of hope in my heart. I draw pictures of the family I lost with my small hands, as if trying to keep their memory alive through my drawings. Sometimes, I raise my hands to the sky, as if signaling to God for help, without words, only through sign language. I hope light will return to my life once again. I never imagined I would face such difficulties. I beg you to support us and help us. Your donations and assistance will mean the world to us, as I don’t want to spend the rest of my life trying to rebuild what was destroyed.

Thank you so much for reading my story. I truly appreciate any help and support you can offer to save my family. Please, help us in any way possible.
