I am Hazara. My people have been targeted for annihilation for over 100 years. What in the world could I, a child born in the 1990s, have done to bring death threats?

I went to school.

I was educated.

I am female.

 

The Taliban hate my people for these very basic reasons:

We are Hazara.

Our women are educated.

Our religion is different from theirs.

 

Three times, my schools were bombed. It has been well documented that the Taliban hates and fights against allowing women to be educated. Not only have the girls’ schools been targeted, but the men have been hunted down as well. Suicide bombers at our mosques; attacks on our villages; car bombings. The list is long. I’ve lost hundreds from my village and classmates in these mass destructions. It is only by the act of God that I am still alive.

Through very harrowing experiences, this young woman and her teenage brother are now safe here in America. Their parents were not able to escape, so it is just the two of them on their own, adjusting to a new life in a new country.

 

With your help, they will be able to recover well and afford the living expenses. With your help, they can complete their education. With your help, they will do what the Taliban has feared: they will thrive!

- $6000 rent support for 1 year

- $7500 trauma therapy for 1 year for a young woman

- $5000 neurotherapy for a young woman

- $4500 therapy for 1 year for a teenage boy

- $2000 dental work for two Hazaras
