Progetto Sawa Sawa - I Bambini di Kibera - Nairobi

Ciao,

siamo Alberto, Anna, Beatrice, Chiara, Daniele, Matteo e Sara! Siamo un gruppo di ragazze e ragazzi che hanno dai 22 ai 30 anni e ad Agosto andremo a Kibera, il più grande Slum africano. In questo periodo collaboreremo, come volontari, con alcune associazioni locali per sviluppare insieme a loro un progetto che partirà da idee, sogni e desideri di alcuni bambini di Kibera. Entreremo in punta di piedi in questo contesto provando sviluppare delle relazioni autentiche con tutte le persone coinvolte, chiederemo a loro in che modo vorrebbero cambiare una parte del luogo in cui vivono per poi provare a realizzare insieme questo cambiamento. Proprio per questo abbiamo bisogno di te!

Quello che proveremo a fare è migliorare anche solo una piccola parte di questa immensa baraccopoli progettando questo cambiamento insieme ai bambini di una scuola locale. Abbiamo bisogno del tuo aiuto economico per poter realizzare quanto i bambini progetteranno.

Crediamo in questo progetto in quanto parte da due presupposti per noi molto importanti. Il primo è qualunque tipo di progetto sociale e umanitario non può essere pensato "per delle persone" ma "con quelle persone". Questo è essenziale per riuscire a sviluppare relazioni autentiche e significative senza rischiare di proiettare le nostre aspettative sul loro futuro. Il secondo presupposto è che crediamo nella forza e nella bellezza dei pensieri e delle idee dei bambini.

Tutti i fondi raccolti saranno utilizzati per realizzare i progetti che i bambini penseranno e, se ci saranno dei soldi in eccesso, per supportare la scuola (Gifted Hands School in Kibera) e un'altra associazione che collabora nel progetto (Koinonia Community).

we are Alberto, Anna, Beatrice, Chiara, Daniele, Matteo and Sara! We are a group of girls and boys who are 22 to 30 years old and in August we will go to Kibera, the largest African Slum. During this time we will work as volunteers with some local associations to develop with them a project that will start from the ideas, dreams and wishes of some of the children of Kibera. We will enter into this context trying to develop authentic relationships with all the people involved, we will ask them in what way they would like to change a part of the place where they live and then try to realize this change together. This is precisely why we need you!

What we will try to do is to improve even a small part of this huge slum by designing this change together with the children of a local school. We need your financial help to be able to accomplish what the children will design.

We believe in this project as it starts from two assumptions that are very important to us. The first is any kind of social and humanitarian project cannot be designed "for people" but "with those people." This is essential to be able to develop authentic and meaningful relationships without risking projecting our expectations onto their future. The second assumption is that we believe in the power and beauty of children's thoughts and ideas.

All funds raised will be used to implement the projects that the children think of and, if there is excess money, to support the school (Gifted Hands School in Kibera) and another association that collaborates in the project (Koinonia Community).
