I Got Your 6 Tour- 2022- Police Suicide Awarenes

On August 28, 2021 my wife, Wendy, and I set out on a journey to bring awareness to the issue of Police Mental Health and Suicide.  We rode from Detroit, MI to Washington D.C. to bring this issue to light.  We made contact with 60 people over the course of our ride which ended at the Reflecting Pool adjacent to the Lincoln Memorial on September 6th. Over the course of 10 days, I posted on our Facebook Page about different pieces of my mental health struggle as well as things to think about as well navigate the world around us. Upon completing the tour and reflecting back we decided to make an annual ride in an effort to keep raising awareness about this issue.

This year we are riding from our home to New York City. The ride will start on April 29th and end at the Battery in Manhattan, overlooking the Statue of Liberty on Friday, May 13th. We will again be wearing custom jerseys, and t-shirts bearing our message along with handing out stickers to the people we engage with along the route.

Our mission with the tour is to help educate our officers and society about the Suicide and Mental Health plague affecting Law Enforcement.  To break the silence and allow our officers to seek the help needed to be mentally, physically, and spiritually well.

The funds raised from this campaign will be used to offset the expenses we expect to incur while riding as well as produce T-shirts, stickers, and cycling jerseys will bear our message.  All excess funds raised will be donated to a non-profit who deals specifically with Police Suicide and assisting their survivors.  

We are working on a social media campaign to assist in getting the word out. We hope as we ride our jerseys, shirts and stickers will help to strike up conversations with complete strangers; continuing to spread the word.
