I HEART TREES
Hello!
My name is Colleen Filippa and I am the Founder and Director of Fifteen Trees.
Through my company, and working with LandcareTAS, we have come up with a beautiful, creative project we have called I <heart> Trees.
Our aim is to plant 730 native trees this winter/spring in the Northwest district of Tasmania. These trees will provide habitat trees for native animals. They are a mixture of of eucalyptus and wattles, indigenous to the area. To help promote the growth and protect the seedlings, every tree will be planted with a tree guard.
There is something very special about this project!
We are planting the trees in the shape of a huge heart!
As far as we know, this has never been done before. The site has been prepared, the heart shape mapped out and species of tree selected. The area we have chosen is home to the White-bellied sea eagle, the Tasmanian devil and the Eastern barred bandicoot. Plus, the endangered swift parrot is known to visit the district on its way to the mainland every winter.
We will be giving progress reports on this platform and over on our social media sites. When the project is complete (mid spring 2021), there will be a full report along with photos on the Fifteen Trees website.
We would love your support to reach this goal. The cost of one tree is $12.00. Total cost 730 trees X $12.00 = $8,760.
Many thanks in advance.

Fifteen Trees
Fifteen Trees (established 2009) is a social enterprise who puts planet and people before profits. We support Australian community tree planting projects by providing their trees. We do this by encouraging individuals and companies to purchase these trees. The trees are sourced from local independent native nurseries who propagate the trees from seed collected in the area.
