I Like Mike (And You Should, Too!)

Hi Folks,

As many of you are aware by now, our friend, son, and brother, Michael Conway, suffered a massive stroke on August 7, 2022. He remains in the ICU at Mass General Hospital in Boston. Mike is stable and hanging tough despite several setbacks in his recovery. He remains on a ventilator and faces a long, tough road ahead but he is also blessed with a multitude of friends and family members who care deeply about him.

With that in mind, I am asking for your assistance. Due to the heap of medical bills (and everyday bills) that will be soon be arriving in the mailbox, Mike’s brother Phil has been placed in a rather uncomfortable and unenviable position. Mike and Phil share an apartment. They’ve done so for many years. Phil must now carry the burden of paying all the bills without Mike’s assistance. Mike’s one and only job at the moment is to get well! What do you say we dig deep and help out our friends?

I know Mike would be the first one to donate if any of us were in his position. He is truly one of the most selfless, generous people I’ve ever known, be it financially or with his time. I am speaking the truth. If you grew up in the Lynn area, chances are Mike once loaned you some money or helped you move a couch or a treadmill… or maybe even gave you a ride somewhere. It’s just his nature. I once dubbed him, “The Bank of Mike” and implored him to stop giving his money to people! I’ve never known him to refuse a request. Honestly! Well, here’s our chance to pay him back.

I’m hopeful that the vast majority of Mike’s medical bills will eventually be covered by insurance, but we all know how that goes. In the meantime, he and Phil desperately need some assistance. Mike may not be able to come home for quite some time. However, the bills never stop! Please help ensure that Mike has an apartment to return to when he’s well enough. I assure you that all donations will go toward Mike’s medical and household expenses. His family members have enough on their plates as it is. Let’s lift some of that weight from their shoulders. Please, please give what you can! And please spread the word! The Conway Family and I deeply appreciate it!
