I need a little help from my friends (and family)

I’m Cheryl Holsonbake and I’ve never done this before. I’m embarrassed, I guess. But we’re really stuck.
After Micah’s murder was confirmed last Christmas, my doctors recommended that I retire from my full-time job with many responsibilities. Despite not having quite enough years into my retirement plan, I did just that. My mental and physical health have improved some, and I’m very grateful for that. But no one ever talks about how your financial health is impacted too.
When a family member is murdered, your whole life changes dramatically and your capabilities are suddenly severely limited. Lance is not able to work just now, in the same way that I wasn’t. It’s a horribly debilitating thing this grief. Anyway, money seems like the least of your worries, until things becomes overwhelming, because bills don’t just stop on a dime.
We’ve made huge changes in lifestyle and expenses and have gotten by with help from Micah’s grandparents and a few very close friends during these shifts. But, since these folks are on their own limited incomes, I just can’t ask for their help again. I do have a good chance at a part-time position very soon that would be just enough when added to our fixed income, but soon isn’t quite soon enough.
So, I’m asking for a little help from our family and friends...to keep our electricity, phones, and car insurance going just a bit longer until this or another part-time job happens for me.
For those interested in the details of Micah’s death and the ongoing murder investigation, feel free to Google “Bakersfield3”. You’ll find it all out there. As of today, no one has been charged for his murder.
