I need help cleaning up after tornado
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Marianne, and on Friday, May 6, a tornado came thru my property and left a disaster in its wake. The tornado tore up the land and trees as it blew down my dirt driveway, for almost half a mile.
I have a dangerous situation with tree branches broken up in the tree canopy of the forest near the house, which will come down, along with trees that were broken but are just precariously leaning on other trees or branches, that may eventually come down on the house. I do not have the money to hire a tree company.
I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and degenerative spinal illness, and last week I was told after tests that I’m at high risk of fracturing bones. The tornado hit right after I was told that news.
This area’s resources for community support are tapped, because there have been multiple tornados here in a short period of time, and I live in the poorest county in my state.
I spent the winter digging drainage ditches on the driveway a bit at a time. This was very painful and difficult on my body, but I had to do this to halt the erosion of my driveway, which is almost half a mile long. Unfortunately the emergency vehicles that cleared the drive and restored my power, flattened all that work, and I need to rent equipment and pay someone to re-do my slow efforts.
I made this fund raiser upon advice from friends. It is very hard for me to ask for help, but I need some. I know this cleanup will require more than $6,000, but this is a beginning.
