Help Tavaris cover surgery and dental expenses!

My name is Tavaris Goldsmith and I strive to live a fulfilling life each day. I’m a passionate mental health professional and advocate for those experiencing mental health issues. I’ve been in the mental health field and serving individuals since January 2011. I am also a great fitness instructor, who assists and motivates others to work and improve healthier lifestyles. So, helping others is definitely one of my greatest satisfactions!

In December 2023, I was diagnosed with Ameloblastoma. Ameloblastoma is a rare, benign or cancerous tumor that develops in the jawbone. Though ameloblastoma is most often diagnosed in adults in their 30s through 60s, it can occur in children and young adults. I have the most common type of ameloblastoma, which is benign but very aggressive. Treatment for this condition includes surgery to remove the tumor and reconstruction surgery to restore my teeth and jaw. The surgery is called “Jaw in a day.” This process allows the surgeons to remove the tumor, graft a new bone into the jaw, reconstruct the jaw and perform dental restoration---all at once! Recovery after surgery varies depending on how one responds to physical and speech therapy. The recovery time can be up to 8 months or longer. The price of surgery is very sizable.

This is where I need you! My out-of-pocket expenses for surgery and the implants needed comes with a healthy price tag. My insurance will not cover the implants for my teeth and will not cover the cost of surgery until my out-of-pocket deductible has been met. I have approximately two or three months to raise the funds needed in order to have surgery. I would truly appreciate it if you would donate to this fundraiser.
