I Want To Keep My Leg: Ethiopian Girl With Cancer
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Yere. I am 11 years old. I am part of the Dassanech tribe in South Ethiopia. Since one month I live with Papa (Ramon) in his Omo‘s Morningstar Children orphanage.
Yesterday, I was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, bone cancer. The doctors want to take off my leg, but Papa thinks there is another option.
In Addis Ababa doctors can take out the cancer through surgery and chemotherapy - but it is very expensive, we don’t have health insurance here.
Please help me to keep my leg, help me to get this treatment before the cancer will spread into my lung.
Thank you.
Donations will be used for:
- Transport Yere, her mother and a friend to Addis Ababa
- Accomodation and meals for support team
- Surgery
- Chemotherapy and radiation expenses
- Stay in hospital
- Transport back to the orphanage after successful treatment
