"From Under the Rubble… I Cry Out for Dignity" – A Plea from Gaza

My name is Mahmoud, a man from Gaza.

I never imagined I'd write a message begging for help.

But this war broke my back, destroyed my home, and buried my dignity beneath the rubble.

I’ve lost everything — no shelter, no income, and not a single night of peace.

My wife is pregnant.

She carries a child in her womb — a child not yet born into this cruel world.

She suffers from hunger and exhaustion, and I watch helplessly, crushed inside.

There is no pain like a father who cannot protect his unborn child.

I live with my elderly parents,

who deserve peace in their final years,

but now sleep on cold ground with barely enough food to survive.

And what breaks my soul even more...

‍ I am the only brother to three blind sisters,

born without sight — they've never seen light, never known color, never witnessed the beauty of the world.

And now, I don’t even know if they are alive.

Are they crying in the dark, alone and afraid, just as I cry now?

I’m not asking for charity.

I’m asking for a chance —

A chance to stand, to protect my family, and to hold on to the little dignity I have left.

This campaign is my last hope — to:

✔️ Try to save my blind sisters from being lost in this disaster
