Gonzalez Family Tragedy Fund
Donation protected
Sadly, we are creating this “gofundme” page in support of an extraordinary Springfield, MA family who suffered an unimaginable loss on December 3, 2014, the loss of their child under tragic circumstances. Around dusk on Monday, a woman, her daughter, and her niece were struck by a car while crossing State Street as pedestrians. The woman’s daughter, Destiny, aged 7, has sadly passed away (pictured above). The woman’s niece, aged 8, is in serious but stable condition as is the mother; with life changing injuries.
The Gonzalez family is also part of another family, the Student Prince family. We have rallied to create the access for support. Destiny's father was employed at the “old” Student Price and is part of the new operation as well. This tragedy directly impacts two Student Prince Employees, with a ripple effect of sadness saturating us all. The “old” Fort staff have always operated in this manner, when one of us is struck by a challenge or tragedy, the staff circles the wagons and supports the one in need. As we have always been, we are here for one another. No one deserves what the Gonzalez family is going through. We feel such sadness for our friends: two responsible, employed Springfield families just raising a family and a doing their best.
Please give what you can. The Gonzalez family is not in a financial position to afford the burial costs for their daughter, the medical costs for their 8 year old niece, losing earning power due to the significant injuries sustained by the Mother, as well as Destiny’s Father who now is caring for everyone else.
As we are all weighed down by this tragedy, please help us help them…it is in the spirit of love and compassion that we hope to raise enough to help this family endure the challenges that face them for the long and short term.
