Mike's medical fund
Donation protected
I'm Tammy and my friend Mike is in a fight for his life with cancer. He's young, good health, works out...he's never been sick so how can this be? What started out as skin cancer is now progressively spreading to his lungs. He needs medical treatment like yesterday! So with your help maybe we all can help ease his mind (if that's possible) with donations to help with expenses. After all this is the season for giving and what better way to give.
UPDATE: Doctor visit on 12/02/14. The doctor reviewed the CAT scan done yesterday and the news was disappointing. There are many more tumors in the lungs and the original ones have grown. Also, there appears to be 1 (possibly 2-3) tumors growing rapidly on the back again. The gene mapping of the tumors came back and unfortunately it rules out many options for drug treatment. The best option is to get into a clinical trial immediately. We are working rapidly to find and apply for one. The doctor feels we have a very small window of opportunity at this time due to the aggressiveness of this cancer. The doctor feels that Mike will remain fairly well for approximately 2 weeks but then there will be a rapid decline without some type of treatment to stabilize things for a little while. The doctor was kind and honest to say that treatment or clinical trial would gain him quality of life for a little while longer but he can no longer give the expectation of 6 months due to the aggressiveness. Doctor says his only option at this time will be to place Mike in the hospital and start aggressive Chemo, even though chemo has not been proven to work on melanoma. Also, Mike will need to under go radiation immediately to try to slow the growth of the tumors on his back.
Mike currently has a persistent cough from the tumors and this is disrupting his sleep a lot. He is tired and overwhelmed to say the least. He is continuing to think positive and thinking a lot about his son.
Please keep Mike in your prayers! We need a great clinical trial, tons of support, more time & a few miracles!
What better time of the year to expect a miracle!
Thank you in advance!
