4 months of COBRA for the Crockers

Donation protected
On November 6th, Billy, father of 5, was laid off from his company. He was given one month's severance with paid insurance.  Within a month, he found employment, but does not begin work until December 15th.

We knew we would need to cover the cost of COBRA, since our 3 youngest have congenital Hypophosphatasia, but hoped it would only be for a month (or maybe two.)  We learned, when my husband signed his papers, that we will not have insurance through his company for 3 months, starting with the first 1st day of the month that he works (which will be January.)

Our portion of his former company's insurance was $800 a month, which was worth it, since we had over 2 million dollars in medical claims for 2014.   Our medical bills will hopefully be less in the coming months, but insurance is something we simply cannot afford to live without, and yet can't afford.

Without his former company kicking in their portion, our cobra payments are $1871.11 each month.  Our first payment is due January 8, 2015.

Thank you for your help!
