IAMAW STRIKE. Workers fight for a fair Contract!
Donation protected
The men and women of the Machinist Union are currently in a battle with Weyerhaeuser over the rights of over 1100 of their workers to have a fairly set wage, healthcare, benefits and working conditions. The brothers and sisters of the IAMAW are currently on strike, as the company has refused to provide a reasonable contract, but instead Weyerhaeuser asks that their workers take unreasonable wages, and worse benefits than they previously had, in a time when Weyerhaeuser has had year over year record profits! Those profits are not only made on the backs of their workers, but in the astronomical prices that all of us have recently paid for building materials.
The unfortunate truth is that while these workers are on strike, fighting for fair wages and benefits, they are not earning paychecks, and they do not qualify for unemployment benefits for weeks, so they are spending their own personal savings, and taking on debt, while they stand with their brothers and sisters to strike for a fair contract. These men and women are essential workers that simply want to go to safely work, and be compensated fairly for their work producing products that end up in our homes and businesses.
While their local communities have provided amazing support to these hard-working people in their fight against corporate greed, they still need help covering their normal everyday expenses.
We would humbly ask that you donate to this campaign to support your fellow workers as they continue to push back against the kind of corporate overreach that we all experience on an all too frequent basis.
All donations will be going directly to the striking workers of Weyerhaeuser as they continue to fight for what is right and fair for their hard-fought labors.
We sincerely appreciate your, and our communities', support and encouragement.
