Ian O Connell is a fifth year student in St. Brendans College, Killarney. A native of Pinewood Estate in Killarney, Ian is the only child of Mike and Nora. He is a sports loving young man, having played football, hurling, soccer and rugby. An accident while cycling on 16th August 2017 has resulted in possible spinal damage in the cervical region.
He faces up to 2 years of treatment and rehabilitation to help regain feeling and movement in his limbs .A bank account has been opened in the A.I. B in Killarney to help Ian and his family with on going expenses incurred in hospital treatment in The Mater Hospital, Dublin ,at the moment ,and travel and accommodation costs in Dublin for his family.
