On July 5th 2002, a star was born! Cleophus & Maloria Thomas were blessed with a baby boy they’d soon learn would be a musical genius. His name was Ian Cameron Thomas.
For the 17 years that Ian graced this earth, He marched to the beat of his own drums and loved everything musical. He played the family of Saxophones: Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Baritone, the piano, and guitar. He was apart of the Dr. Henry A Wise Jr. High School Band, F.A.M.E- (Foundation for the Advancement of Music and Education), and The Village Band. He was awarded multiple awards for his outstanding musical achievements throughout his young career.
Outside of Band, Ian loved playing video games, building computers, camping, and fishing with his dad. Every year he would plant a garden that would provide fresh vegetables all summer. He was also great at making experiments, cooking, and spending time with his friends.
On March 6th, 2020 Ian was in an accident that cut his dreams short of being the greatest musician of all time. This tragedy has taken a toll on everyone who has ever encountered him and in his Honor a GoFundMe was set up. This scholarship is meaningful because Ian was accepted to Towson University and was on track to fulfill his goals as a Master Musician. He wanted to share his gifts with the world by training young musicians.
By supporting this fund, we will raise money to support 5 musicians like him achieve their educational dreams. Your support will help Ian's memories and dreams live on.
Thank you for all of your calls, texts, messages, social media posts, flowers, cards, prayers and condolences. We will forever remember our musician. We Love you Ian.
