Ian T's Eagle Scout Project
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Ian Tsao and I am a Boy Scout from Troop 10 in Great Neck, New York. Currently I am working toward the rank of Eagle Scout and I am asking you for help to fund my Eagle Project.
Through scouting, I have grown a lot and learned to appreciate nature and everything it has to offer. Last year, I was shocked when I heard that three teens burned an osprey nest containing eggs, in Udalls Cove, near my home. I decided to use my Eagle Scout Project to do something positive in order to counter this negative event.
My project has several parts: creating and installing an educational display to raise awareness of the wildlife and natural environment of Udalls Cove; planting an elm tree; labeling plant life in the project site; cleaning up the nearby shoreline and petitioning for the removal of the concrete structure at the site of the vandalism.
I will be using the money raised to purchase the construction materials for the educational display, the elm tree, tree markers, cleanup supplies and other items needed for my project.
My service project will benefit the Udalls Cove Preservation Committee (UCPC) a nonprofit organization that works to preserve, conserve and restore the undeveloped wetlands and woodlands in the Udalls Cove water shed. I would appreciate any contribution you can make to help me complete this project.
To learn more about this incident, you can watch this news report: http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2016/05/03/little-neck-osprey-nest-fire/
Please add your name to the petition for the removal of the concrete structure: https://www.change.org/p/belgrave-water-pollution-control-district-help-restore-udalls-cove-to-its-natural-beauty
Thank you,
