Ian’s Journey – A Heart Full of Courage

My name is Andrea, and I’m lucky to be friends with the amazing Ytsma family — parents David and Natalia, their adventurous son James, sweet baby sister Evelyn, and of course, Ian, their little fighter with the biggest heart. Ian’s journey has been nothing short of inspiring from the very beginning.

Ian was born with a coarctation of the aorta and an unbalanced AVSD (atrioventricular septal defect). At just two weeks old, he underwent his first open-heart surgery, followed by a second surgery at six months. Now, at only four years old, he is preparing for his third open-heart surgery, scheduled for Halloween.

David and Natalia have handled every challenge with strength, love, and grace. As they prepare for this next surgery and the recovery ahead, we want to come together to support them. These funds will help ease the financial burden, giving them the space to focus fully on Ian’s healing and well-being.
