Dear Friends and Family,
It is with great sorrow that we regret to announce the tragic death of Ian Simiyu Sindani. Until his passing, Ian was based in South East Melbourne. Ian was a 3rd year student studying a Bachelor of Mental Health & drug and alcohol at Chisholm Institute. He was a beloved son to Alice Sikwata (in Kenya) and Herbert Sindani Simiyu (Deceased). A brother to Saravallary Sindani and Micken Sindani in Melbourne and Derek Sindani ( in Kenya). Ian is also a nephew to Isabella Sikwata, Anita Sikwata, Jael Sikwata and Erastus Mafuta all in Melbourne, and a grandson to Violet Sikwata (Melbourne). Ian is deeply cherished by his family and community. Described as a social and charming person by those who knew him.
Ian was reported missing for 5 days and his body was discovered at a paddock in Cranbourne East on Thursday, 15 August.
The circumstances surrounding his death are still to be confirmed, pending ongoing investigations by the Coroners court. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Kenyan Community for their tireless efforts in searching for Ian during this difficult time.
