Support For Mama Zul

If you are a part of the cultural arts community in the New York, New Jersey tri-state area, or have witnessed drum and dance performances in the vicinity, then you undoubtedly know or have heard of Sister Zulatifa Zahiratu, affectionately known as "Mama Zul".

Mama Zul, who is a long time and beloved activist, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, teacher, leader, and community matriarch has fallen ill, diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, and is now in need of our support as she fights the odds to stabilize her health.


The Family of mama Zul along with concerned friends and supporters are raising funds to assist with the assurance of a continued quality of life for mama Zul while she fights against stage 4 cancer.

The funds will be used to offset any medical expenses not covered by insurance and everyday living situations that change due to the realities of cancer.

The family is thankful in advance for any donations given, no amount is too small.
