Ice Cream Jon's Memorial

Donation protected
Sadly, 'Ice-Cream Jon' fell victim to COVID-19 and passed away on 5 Feb 2021. He has passed far too soon and will be missed by all his children, grandchildren, family and friends.

We know how much being in John Leigh Park with his beloved yellow van meant to him and how he took pride and joy in looking after his many customers. We also know that he will be very sorely missed by many visitors, families and children to the park, many who Jon had known for a very long time.

As a family we would like to organise a memorial in the park where we can go to remember him and pay tribute to the pride and dedication he had for the service he provided.

We have been overwhelmed by all the heartfelt messages and what he meant to so many - a smile, a chat and usually some football banter!  We appreciate that many of his friends would also like the opportunity to pay their respects and can't think of a better way to do this.

We will work in conjunction with Friends of John Leigh Park to organise a fitting memorial and will absolutely be starting with a bench and will post all details here.

We would also like to donate some money to a charity who support Intensive Care Staff out of respect to the staff at Wythenshawe Hospital who looked after him, and us, with such care and dignity during his time in hospital.

Many thanks,

Emma, Lisa, Matthew and Nick - Jon's Children
Lily, Jasmine, Alice, Emily, Lola and Dotty - Jon's Grandchildren.
