ICU Stay & Memorial Fund for Alex Gonzalez Family

 

Alex and Lori fell in love and married on 10/20/2018, blending there families with their 4 boys, Nick, Adam, Jason, and Adam. After many years as single parents it was a match made in heaven for everyone. There lives were just beginning.

 

On October 10, 2021, Alex was admitted to the ICU in Colorado for complications from Covid-19. He continued to decline and was intubated six days later. Each day was a struggle for Alex, Lori and their boys, as they hung on to their faith and family bonds. Lori continued to work, visit and care for Alex and take care of the boys.

 

A subsequent staph infection complicated his prognosis as the ICU days continued much longer than anyone anticipated. After some close calls and a month in the ICU, they started finally seeing improvement. They felt hopeful for the first time since this began.

 

On the morning of November 10th, the health care team was very positive and going to remove the ventilator by transitioning to a tracheotomy. There were complications in the procedure and Alex who seemed to be headed out of the ICU didn't survive. Alex died November 10, 2021 during the procedure. Lori lost her husband, best friend and love of her life. Please help them mend their life.
