IDA Land Vehicle Fundraiser
Tax deductible
Who is IDA?
Idyll Dandy Arts (IDA) is a Southern, rural community land project and educational space tucked into the hills of Middle Tennessee. The mostly wooded hollow provides a residential and communal space for queer, trans and gender non-conforming people of color (QTPOC).
IDA’s 200 acres is home to roughly 6-10 residents at a time, some dogs, cats, and a lot of wildlife. IDA hosts a rotating cast of gardeners, artists, activists and friends. Residents and visitors build and practice rural living skills--maintaining the land and residences, gardening/landscaping, art and activism. IDA centers QTPOC and values the diversity and range of queer and trans experiences. The residents and organizers believe Idapalooza, our annual music festival, is an opportunity for people of different histories and backgrounds to come together, forming something like a community, however briefly.
Why We’re Fundraising for a Car
We are fundraising for a reliable and used vehicle that can meet our needs as a community.
Living rurally presents it’s own challenges, including transportation. IDA’s residents need a vehicle to access basic needs: groceries, supplies, tools, drop-offs at the airport/bus stations, visiting friends and neighbors, etc. A vehicle is also required to transport large items across the land project such as gardening soil and tools, building materials, etc. During Idapalooza, having a land vehicle is necessary to insure we are able to pick up and drop off visitors to and from the airport.
In the past, we have had multiple cars donated to us that are nonfunctional/nonreliable, leaving our residents to depend on a single resident's personal vehicle. This makes makes difficult for us to meet all of our residents’ needs.
Donations from this Gofundme with will towards:
-Used and reliable Vehicle
-Repairs and Maintenance
-Registration and License plate
-Insurance for a year for all of our drivers
-AAA membership for a year
