Raab Family Following Hurricane Ian's Destruction

Hello,

My name is Mary Jane Wendler. I am asking for your help in supporting my sister-in-law's family to clean up and rebuild from the destruction caused by Hurricane Ian. Jill rode out the storm with her husband, Roman, and their children, Griffin, Chase, and Nick. They were horrified to see the top Category 4 wind speeds take off parts of their house and epic floodwaters flow into the entire first floor of their Florida home. Vehicles, appliances, tools, furniture, and precious childhood and holiday memories were ruined.

Watching from afar, my husband, Scott, and I feel helpless. I can only imagine what they and thousands of other families are dealing with when the winds die away and the floodwaters recede. Where to begin? How do you sort through the destruction and watch your belongings put into a dumpster? Then tear out your kitchen, bedrooms, family rooms, etc. and wait to rebuild it again, starting over.

Words can not express how relieved and grateful we are that Jill, Roman, Griffin, Chase, Nick, and Anna are safe and physically well. Many of you may feel as Scott and I do, wanting to provide some support but are unable to be there to lug out flood-ruined sofas and rip up the flooring and drywall; never mind just being able to hug them and tell them how much we care about what they have to handle.
