Jeff's Medical Fund

If you know my brother Jeffrey Forgit, then you know him as the incredibly hard working, side splittingly funny, devoted father that he is. He, like always, just keeps trucking along, working too many hours, and living for the time that he is able to spend with his treasured 8 year old daughter Rea, and cherished girlfriend Gina.
Jeff was laid off from work in early October, and while working hard to find a new job, started suffering from terrible back pains. Now, Forgits don't fall easily, but the back pain was crippling. After initially being misdiagnosed, things got worse. Eventually, Jeff was brought to the emergency room here in New Hampshire, where he was promptly transferred to the world renowned Brigham and Women's hospital in Boston. He was suffering from multiple organ failure, was put into a coma, and had little chance of survival.

But, Forgits don't quit! Jeffrey's strength and stubborn nature brought him back to us. After a month in the ICU, Jeff is on the long slow path to recovery. There are still major surgeries and potentially months of recovery before Jeff can come home to a rehabilitation facility in New Hampshire.

Jeff's girlfriend Gina has been, literally, by his side through everyday of this horrible ordeal, she has been his rock and he would not be where he is now without her. And on 12/06 in front of our family who love them both so much, Jeff and Gina were married! While Gina's employer had been very understanding with time off, unfortunately she has now been let go, and Jeff has lost his insurance coverage. COBRA will continue his benefits, but with no income coming in, those payments are an issue. Jeff's parents, Robyn and Guy, spent over a month renting a hotel room next to the hospital for themselves and Gina. The hotel rooms, and their own lost wages have nearly depleted their savings.

Jeff is a proud, strong man who has never asked for anything that he didn't deserve. But, he is in this one for the long haul. Let's make sure that he has a suitable home to come back to and the long term support that he is going to need. I known that he has so many friends, family members, and friends that might as well be family, who want to help him in this time of great need. Let's be strong for Jeff now when he really needs us.
