IF I HAD A DOLL
Donation protected
The Doll Project aims to bring together Palestinian children from war-torn Gaza and the West Bank, and Ukrainian women refugees in Poland in a unique project. The project has a double purpose.
To provide an opportunity for refugee women to produce simple, hand-made dolls which will be sent to Palestinian children. The refugee women will work in an environment free from exploitation; a co-operative initiative in which they are autonomous.
To offer comfort to the Palestinian children who are traumatised by the external conditions caused by war.
Dolls will be a source of therapeutic solace for children suffering from continuous bombardment, displacement, food shortages and an uncertain future.
We need your help. Your donations will contribute to the production of these handmade dolls.
We aim to produce 200 dolls by April, 2025. Each doll costs £85 to produce (does not include shipping and handing) and therefore we need to raise £20,000. The funds will be used entirely to fund the labour, materials, and shipping of the dolls.
At present, there is no means of access into Gaza. Therefore, The Doll Project will ship the dolls into the West Bank where Palestinian children can receive packages. When Gaza opens, we will prepare packages for the children there. We aim to send the first 50 dolls of the 200 intended by January, 2025.
