Immigrant Families Together - IFT - General Fund
Immigrant Families Together began in late June 2018, as a response to the Trump administration's zero tolerance policy, which resulted in the forced separation of thousands of families at the Mexico-U.S. border. While parents and guardians were put in immigration prisons, their children were sent to foster care facilities around the country, typically without any explanation provided to anyone impacted by this policy. Some of those families remain separated today.
As we prepare to commemorate our third anniversary, we celebrate the fact that we have been able to reunite over 140 individuals, posting bonds ranging from $1,500 to $40,000, and then providing ongoing, long-term support to ensure that families who were impacted by this policy and who are pursuing asylum, can live in this country safely and with stability. Through the support of thousands of donors just like you, we've proven that small actions, when performed collectively, can make a big difference in people's lives. Your donations provide housing, groceries, legal representation, transportation, medical care, and more, to the families supported by Immigrant Families Together. Your support also helps us in our work at detention centers and at the Mexico-U.S. border, where we provide material donations and advocacy.
When we say we couldn't do this without you, we really mean it. Know that your contribution to this work supports families who are grateful that you welcome them as neighbors.
Thank you for your generosity and support.
