iHearIC wants to pay performers
Donation protected
iHearIC is a free monthly concert series in Iowa City, featuring performing artists from the University of Iowa and other creative communities in the area.
For the past few years, iHearIC has operated on a very small budget, using audience's donations to support essential costs, such as maintaining our website
and printing posters. We borrow equipment, volunteer our time, and set up in restaurants and bars that are willing to host us for free. This has allowed us to continue presenting these concerts without charging admission. We're proud to bring so much new music and art to new audiences. Our YouTube page chronicles all the unique performances we've enabled.
Nobody involved is spending any money, and nobody is making any money. This includes our performers. We would like to change that. Performers are spending their time with us and presenting their work, and they deserve compensation. We believe that artists should not be expected to provide their art for free and we want to start putting our money where our mouths are. In order to accomplish this goal while keeping our concerts free to the public, we need some help! Please consider making a contribution so that our performers can get paid for their art.
