JESSICA'S FECAL BACTERIOTHERAPY
My name is Jessica Majano. I am 23 years old and a single mother. I have a beautiful one year old daughter that I would love to enjoy see grow. She's my miracle.
When I was 9 years old I was diagnosed with UC (ulcerative colitis). This was something very hard to deal with as a little girl. I was always in and out of hospitals. I've been on very strong medications since the day I was diagnosed. It has gotten to a point where medicines no longer work on me. I lose weight very easily, my immune system is extremely weak, I have no appetite, and i'm always tired. I majority of the time just want to go home and sleep. My UC does not give me strength and energy to play with my daughter. I'm always up in the middle of the night using the bathroom , fighting my sleep, and by the time I have to get up for work I am already exhausted & weak with no energy to start off my day.
My doctor David Kerman in Gastroenterology recommended a procedure called FMT (fecal microbiota transplant). This is also known as a stool transplant; the process of transplantation of fecal bacteria from a healthy individual into a recipient. Fecal bacteriotherapy is approximately 85% to 90% effective in those for whom antibiotics have not worked or in whom the disease recurs following antibiotics.
I am really interested in this procedure to end my sleepless nights and energize my days to go to work, continue school but most of all watch my daughter grow. I do not want to miss anyhting that happens in her life.
My colonoscopy and transplant is scheduled for JUNE 19, 2015 AT 10:30am at the University of Miami with my doctor.
Please help me in raising the money for this procedure. It will be greatly appreciated in countless ways. God Bless.
XOXO
JESS
