The Personal Story That Started It All

In 2022, shortly after the pandemic, I attended Burning Man in Black Rock City, Nevada. The world had been through a time of isolation—masks, distancing, and uncertainty about physical connection. In that moment, I felt called to break the barrier of disconnection.

As an avid hugger since my earliest days holding tightly to my mother, I introduced myself to strangers by saying, "I'm Christa, and I hug." That simple statement became my Burner name (iHuG)—and soon, my mission.

I made it my goal to hug as many people on “The Playa” as possible. What I witnessed was beyond anything I could have imagined. Grown men collapsed in my arms, weeping. People who hadn’t been hugged in years melted into a moment of deep healing.

It was then that I realized—this wasn’t just about me. This was about humanity remembering our innate power to heal ourselves and each other through loving, non-sexual physical touch.

From that moment on, I knew that healing hugs were my purpose. And now, we are taking this mission around the world.

The Vision: A Hug Stand that Travels the World

To make this movement tangible, we are building a portable “Healing Hugs Stand”—a beautiful, welcoming space where people can come together, hug, share stories, and feel seen. Imagine a lemonade stand, but for hugs—a place where love is freely given, and community is cultivated.

This stand will be set up at major global gatherings, festivals, and public spaces where people are seeking connection, joy, and healing.

Eventually, we envision thousands of hug stands and volunteers for the movement healing eachother around the world, contributing to the largest LOVE community and building a LOVE economy.

Together, we will:

Travel to spread love and hugs around the world

Give and receive 100,000 hugs to heal and uplift spirits

Create pop-up Hug Stands at events, parks, and city squares

Build a Global Love Community—a movement that outlives this tour and continues spreading joy
