Ilan's Top Surgery

Hi! My name is Ilan and first off, thank you for taking the time to click this link. A few introductory details... I am 26 years old and live in Chicago, IL. I am public health devotee and LGBTQ+ advocate for the Chicago community and beyond. I am fire-y Aries with a love for connection and a little bit of chaos. I am a huge Stevie Nicks, MUNA, and Frank Ocean fan and try to go to as many concerts as I can. I am a dedicated and loyal friend, surrounded by a diverse community of people who committed to each other and being their best selves. You can usually catch me at a drag show in Boystown any weekend supporting local drag artists. I am queer in so many senses of the word - I am bisexual and I am a non-binary trans masculine person. 

 

I have been in the process of scheduling my top surgery and can't stop smiling thinking about it. I came out as Ilan to the world last year and feel more like myself everyday. I am asking you to help me continue to be my true self by contributing to my top surgery fund. My goal is to raise $8000 to cover part of the cost of surgery, pre and post care, and my travel costs to Wisconsin for the procedure. Though I am dismayed by the insurance options available to cover the surgery, I am optimistic about what happens when communities come together. I know that once I feel like my body on the outside matches how I feel inside that I will only be a better person, friend, and advocate for my community.

 

As a culmination of these fundraising efforts, my unbelievable friends have volunteered to help put on a drag show to raise any additional funds needed. More details to come but stay on the lookout for information on the show.
