Help to Illuminate to Recovery: A Stained Glass Journey

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Aaron Orth, an artist with nearly 20 years of sobriety. In 2019, during a challenging divorce, I discovered the therapeutic power of stained glass art, which played a pivotal role in my recovery.

Now, I aim to share this healing journey with others facing similar struggles. The Challenge Did you know that approximately 68% of released prisoners in the U.S. are rearrested within three years, and about 50% are reincarcerated? A significant factor contributing to these statistics is drug addiction, leading many individuals to cycle through the criminal justice system. Parolees often struggle to find meaningful employment, increasing the risk of recidivism.

Additionally, those wrongfully convicted re-enter society with minimal support, facing immense challenges in rebuilding their lives. Our Mission We are excited to introduce “Illuminate to Recovery,” an innovative project that uses the art of stained glass as a powerful tool for healing and transformation.

Our mission is to mentor individuals struggling with addiction, as well as parolees and those who have been wrongfully convicted, providing them not only with skills but also with hope, purpose, and a pathway to a brighter future.

How It Works Mentorship and Training: Participants will receive hands-on training in stained glass techniques, guided by experienced artisans. They will learn to design, cut, and assemble stained glass, creating beautiful pieces of art. Supportive Environment: Our workshops will provide a safe and nurturing space where individuals can share their experiences, support one another, and find encouragement on their recovery journey.

Job Opportunities: Upon completion of the program, participants will have a guaranteed job working in my studio or support in building their own stained glass studio.

We are committed to helping them secure employment, giving them a chance to start anew, whether that’s through direct employment with me or by providing the resources they need to establish their own artistic endeavors.

Why Stained Glass?
Stained glass has a unique ability to transform light and create beauty out of raw materials. Just as the glass is shaped and colored, so too can our participants reshape their lives.

The process of creating stained glass not only fosters creativity but also encourages patience, focus, and resilience—skills that are essential for recovery. How You Can Help Your contribution, no matter the size, will help us illuminate the path to recovery for those in need.
