Illustrations, Inclusion, and Inviting Community

Hello! My name is Erika. I suffer from chronic pain.
I'm writing a children's book! More specifically, I've already written a book. After concluding the editing process, it's been sitting for months, ready to pass along to the next stage. So what is the next step? Illustrations. Unfortunately, I've been unable to pay for the illustrations to accompany my story.
Why donate?
Throughout this journey, I've been so thankful to be surrounded by people that support me. Among this group are my littlest friends: my nephews and niece. While all of them are still under four years old, it's been evident that they are uniquely discovering the difference, uncertainties, and empathy that chronic pain requires. But, unfortunately, they also don't have stories that reflect how to understand the delicate emotions and realities of doing life with someone who experiences invisible pain, hence why I decided to write one!
As an educator and proud "Aunt E," I am committed to promoting stories we can learn from. By donating to my campaign, you're supporting learners all over. Expanding representation to a currently underserved group, you will share how pain doesn't have to be misrepresented. Chronic pain can now be a part of the stories that beautifully make up our bookshelves, baskets and bins, school and classroom libraries, gifts, and more.
P.S. If all goes according to plan, the book will be out in time for the Holidays!
Thanks for reading and considering contributing to increased inclusion!
