A Call for Help: A 16-Year-Old’s Journey of Strength and Hope

In 2016, I lost my father. It was a Tuesday, November 1st, and at 9:00 PM, my world changed forever. My dad was the pillar of our family, and after his passing, my mother remarried, but things haven’t been the same. The weight of responsibility fell on me, the oldest brother. At just 16 years old, I’m the one who takes care of my younger siblings. Every day, I try my best to provide for them, but it’s a constant struggle.

Right now, we live in an old house, holding onto memories, but the future is uncertain. I’m determined to make something better for my family. My dream is simple: to study abroad, to learn, and to create a future where my siblings can live without the struggles we’ve faced. I don’t want to stay stuck in this cycle. Education is my path out, and I need your help to make it happen.

I’m raising funds to support my studies, my journey toward a better future, and for basic necessities like food. Sometimes we eat, and sometimes we don’t. My dad was a security guard before he passed away. After his death, my dad’s family blamed us for his passing. Before he died, my mom asked his side of the family to contribute just 20,000 South Sudanese pounds so he could be taken to Sudan for treatment. They refused, saying my dad never gave them money when he was alive.

Now, even when we ask them for something small, like money for food, they repeat the same thing: that our dad never gave them anything. I am now the one taking care of my brothers, ensuring they are safe and have what they need.

If this wasn’t important, I wouldn’t ask for help, but it truly is. I’m only 16 years old, and this money will go directly toward my tuition, school supplies, and other essentials I need to succeed. I am committed to working hard, but I can’t do it alone.
