I’m asking for help for bills and everyday needs.

Hello, my name is LaTanya Wheaton. I received my kidney transplant on Monday, September 11, 2023. As I heal, I humbly ask for your assistance as I will need assistance to pay bills and everyday needs for my family and me. I’m the sole breadwinner for my family, and I won’t be able to work the rest of the year as I stay in isolation. Let me share my short story about my 13 year journey to my blessing.

On December 10, 2010, I woke up dying. I’m sure everyone feels that way everyday. I, however, was literally dying. My mother and my kids found me grayish in color, my organs were failing and I was internally bleeding to death from an allergic reaction to an antibiotic. My ex-husband and his cousin came and rushed me to the hospital. I appreciate them for that! For the last 13 years, I’ve been dying to live with End Stage Renal Disease! (Somebody is gonna miss that!) I never looked at it as a burden but as a life learning lesson. God had my sometimes divided attention, but He showed me patience, favor, grace and mercy despite me! His favor continued to follow me as I trekked through the refiner’s fire and the valley of the shadow of death! I say all that to say this….THE WAIT IS OVER! I’m in the hospital recovering from my surgery which occurred on Monday, September 11, 2023! BUT GOD!!!!! Although I’m ultra private, you all have been on this journey with me: covering me in prayer, loving me, encouraging me, checking on me, looking out for me and my kids and making me laugh even when I didn’t want to! Please say a special prayer for me, my medical team, my kids, my mom, my person, siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins and my village, yes please include yourself too! And especially say an extra special prayer for the family who lost their 13 year old child and gifted me something I can never repay them for!

Lord, I thank You for the life and generosity of this young man’s parents who unselfishly decided to donate hos organs! Thank you for a smooth surgery, swift recovery with no rejection! I love you Lord, and thank you for your grace and mercy, for keeping me, leading me, restoring me and entrusting me with this journey! It’s been a long, sometimes rough and uncertain path to tread, especially as a single mother! BUT GOD, through it all, Lord, I trusted you even when I couldn’t seem to trace You! And here we are at an oasis in the desert! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Amen
