In loving memory of Richard Wright

It is with deep sadness we must announce the sudden passing of our Ricky. Rick was a much loved father, son, brother, uncle and friend to many, many people and we know as his family we will not be alone in grieving this huge loss.

Rick leaves behind his much adored children Joe, Josh & Beau who he loved immeasurably, they are in all of our thoughts and hearts at this difficult time.

Many of you will know and remember Rick as a respected business man, a brilliant barber and owner of his shop RAW barbers in hassocks. Unfortunately he battled with alcoholism but had been sober for many years. When covid hit rick had just opened a new business and lockdown hugely impacted this and his mental health. Unfortunately he did return to drinking and despite trying incredibly hard with the help of his family and people around him he unexpectedly and suddenly passed away at home on Saturday 25th February.

We will remember rick for his inarguable brilliant sense of humour, his love of fashion, his many hats and trainers and his infectious laugh.

We would like to invite everyone to join us in a celebration of ricks life. If anyone has any memories of rick they would like to share with the family this would be welcomed gratefully.

As rick passed so suddenly we would also appreciate any donations instead of flowers so we can give ricks children a lasting memory as we believe this is what he would of wanted. But most importantly we would love for you all to be there on the day to celebrate Ricky with us and say goodbye to someone who was very much loved and will be missed by us all. We love you rick, we always did and we always will. Gone but undoubtedly never, ever forgotten.

We would like to thank everyone for their incredibly generous donations, we’re still of course, coming to terms with the loss of Rick, which has devastated us as a family. But all of your donations and comments have gone a long way in reminding us how well loved and respected he was. It truly means so much. All the money raised here will be going equally to Ricks three children and we know if Rick could, he would thank you all personally himself because his children meant the world to him. Funeral arrangements are still on going and we hope to see you all there to say goodbye to Rick. As soon as we know dates and locations we will update this page. In the mean time we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support. And as Rick would always say… God bless.
