I'm Not 40 yet...Durkee's Turning 40 Half Marathon
Tax deductible
Hey everyone,
I wanted to share my 2023 journey with you. At the beginning of the year, I was at my worst physically, so I started running with a goal in mind – a half marathon before turning 40. Week by week, I went from one mile to three and so on.
My target was an official run a week before my 40th birthday, but a conflict arose – Front Row Dads Live, a fatherhood event. At the event, I was surrounded by men who encouraged me to still get my half marathon in, even unofficially, so I decided to go for it.
Soon after the event I shared the idea with my brother and he showed his support by offering to join me. I began sharing my journey with others and the support has grown to where I wanted to share it with as many people as possible!
On Saturday, December 16th, I'll be running the "I'm Not 40 Yet" half marathon. Join me for part or all of it if you want! If you aren’t local or have other things going on that morning, don’t worry! It's not just a run; it's also for a cause. We lost my dad to Alzheimer's in 2021, so I decided I’m also running to raise funds for the Alzheimer's Disease Research Foundation.
Hopefully you’ll join virtually(or physically!) and help me support the cause!
Best,
