Iʼm raising to Help Make a Home Away from Home for NICU
Donation protected
Having a baby in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is one of the most heartbreaking experiences a family can go through. At Liverpool Women’s Hospital, we are lucky to have patient flats where families can stay close to their babies during this incredibly difficult time. But these 3 flats rely entirely on charity donations, and right now, they are missing even the most basic comforts.
I’ve been working hard to secure support, and thanks to the generosity of local businesses, we’ve managed to get a living room TV for each flat and a year of internet—but when I visited to help set everything up, I was taken aback by what was still missing.
There are no TV stands, no bedside lamps in the children’s rooms, and no washing machine in the shared kitchen. The little things that make a place feel like home just aren’t there.
If I can raise just £600 that would give me £200 per flat to buy what’s needed most—whether that’s a bedside lamps so a parent can sit and read to their child at night, a washing machine to make life that little bit easier, or a TV for the children’s bedroom. Every penny will go directly to making these flats feel like a home, not just a place to stay.
No parent expects to need these flats, but when they do, they deserve somewhere that feels warm, welcoming, and comforting in such a traumatic time.
If you can spare even the price of a coffee, you’ll be helping to make a huge difference to families who are going through the hardest days of their lives. I’ll be sharing updates on everything we’re able to buy thanks to your donations.
Thank you for any support you can give. Let’s make these flats a real home away from home for the families who need them most. ❤️
