I’m running to raise money for an Autism Assistance Dog
Donation protected
Hello!
My name’s Daisy and, if you know me, you’ll know that I have a long-standing love-hate relationship with running.
What you might not know is I also have a long-standing love hate relationship with ADHD and neurodiversity. Having gone through the diagnosis period personally and spent a long time struggling with my education unsupported, I am very lucky to be in a place now where I feel able to continue my education with the support I need.
Unfortunately, support is chronically underfunded for other ADHD, autistic and neurodivergent youth in the UK. This is where you come in.
I’m going to be running a 10k, a half-marathon, and ultimately a marathon to raise funds for an Autism Assistance dog for a friend’s sibling. This dog will be completely life-changing for this person, in particular allowing them to navigate the education system with the access and confidence we all deserve.
Now, this person needs to access this support as soon as possible. They have already met a suitable dog and are keen to begin training, but urgently need to raise up to £7500 by July. Unfortunately, I can’t go from running my mouth to running a marathon in that time frame, so I will be running the St Aidan 10k in July, the Alton Towers Half Marathon on 17th November, and the Norfolk Marathon on 29th April 2025. I promise you the more you donate, the faster I will run, but realistically I am aiming for a sub-4 hour time.
Let’s talk logistics. The person raising funds has their own GoFundMe page led by their sibling, which any donations to this will be updated on as cash donations, but rest assured this account is linked to them and funds don’t go to my bank at any point.
i would really appreciate any funds you can give and to further incentivise:
we reach £500: I do the 10k dressed as a dog
we reach £1000: I’ll do the half marathon dressed as a dog
we reach £5000: I’ll do the marathon dressed in the best homemade dog costume you will have seen. Ever.
big love and thanks xx
