The South Houston High School Alumni Association is dedicated to raising funds for the benefit of the school, its current students, and alumni. It is our desire to promote and advance educational programs at SHHS, as well as to provide for items which may not be budgeted, but are needed to enhance the environment and atmosphere at the school.

Due to the generosity of our alumni, we were able to collect start-up funds of $10,000 through the Hector's Hundred project in 2012. One hundred alums or groups of alums paid $100 each to have
an engraved plate placed in the Hector's Hundred display of founding donors. These funds were used to create the display and also to help fund our activities in the first year of operation. The Hector display is an object of pride for both students and alums!

In the fall of 2012, the decision was made to raise funds for the purchase of a band trailer for the Trojan marching band. Profits from our first homecoming party, donations made at the party and at the homecoming game, and funds in our operating budget enabled us to dedicate $6,000 toward the purchase and outfitting of a band trailer. This project is currently being carried out by Pasadena ISD and high school staff members. It takes time to locate a trailer, make the purchase, create the outside wrap, and outfit the trailer on the inside. It is expected that the band trailer will be ready for use in the fall of 2014. Look for a huge celebration at its unveiling!

The current wish list from Dr. Steve Fullen, Principal at SHHS, includes:
· artwork for the hallways
· a display case for the front hallway
· benches for the Senior Courtyard
· tables for the Victory Bell Courtyard
· electronic readers and e-books
· a digital marquee

Funds collected through this fund drive will be used to make some of these wishes come true! The Board of Directors appreciates any and all donations. The more money we raise, the more we can provide for our Alma Mater!
