Loki's eye ruptured! Had Surgery

Donation protected

JANUARY 6, 2015
We can't seem to catch a break at the cat house... Loki had a unlcer on his eye - we had been treating it and that didn't work it kept getting worse - after our follow up appt. the doc said we needed to go to the specialist. Next day (1/5) we went and they wanted to do surgery right then- which we didn't have enough money to do - the care credit account is still full of Chopper, Squirt & Tank's emergencies. So they said we would treat agressively with meds 5 differet drops 4-6 times per day - well he woke me this morning making a sound like he was in pain and his eye had a reddish wetness so I assume it had ruptured and I called the ER Dept and took him in - the Ophthamology Dept is connected to the ER but they don't come in till later so Loki is there waiting for the  Doc to get in. He is at Southern Arizona Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Center.  520-888-3177.

I set this up back in August when I came into my 4th pet emergency. I never shared it. I felt weird about it and there are so many haters out there.  Anyway this is what I originally wrote up: **Friends have told me to do one of these a few different times but I didn't think I needed to. One emergency here and there is something I just handle however I've had 4 back to back and that is hard to handle and has pushed me to my max. First was Tank (06/15) - I thought I was being paranoid and would be going to the vet for nothing... he didn't come home. Next Chopper - I thought I was taking him in to say goodbye (he is 9) but renal failure isn't necessarily an instant death sentence so into the hospital he went... then Squirt! He is 14 and also has renal failure. This brings me to Minny. She was a special needs adoption from animal control - she was older and blind and not in the best shape -turned out she was Diabetic. I got her on the right track and she has had a great life here... she is currently having issues with vestibular disease ... When my other dog Psycho started having trouble with that (he was also blind & diabetic) it was the beginning of his end he was 16 when he said goodbye. I guess I'm just looking for a bit of assistance to pay off a portion of the last 4 emergencies just in case another one comes up! When you have multiple pets sometimes that happens and like I said one - not a problem but 4 in a row hits hard.**

I lost Squirt first on September 15th then Chopper on Sept 18th and Minny in August.

CURRENT
This week 11/9/15 I took Bruiser in because someone (Ruby probably) scuffled with him and he had an infected bite –was an fix –check up and antibiotics & good to go and he is fine.

Now (11/12/15) Fatboy (Fatty, My love) was acting like he wasn’t feeling well so  - off to the vet we go! Triple SNAP test all negative. Blood work – not so great… White counts are high, over 19k when they should be under 16k. We are going back today after work (11/13/15) to get a shot of antibiotics and try to get the urine they couldn’t get last night and maybe do a new fecal test. Not sure how many tests will come up in the near future for my Fatty but I want to be able to afford them and I am still pretty maxed by the 4 emergencies over the summer (totaled about $3,600) – I’d just like to bring some of down so I have room to cover whatever tests I may need for Fatty.  Thank you.
