Imagination Station Eagle Scout Project
Hi, I’m Quinn Johnson, and I am an Eagle Candidate and Life Scout of Brighton Michigan’s Boy Scout Troop 350. As a kid, I loved playing at the Imagination Station, my favorite playground. My parents and grandparents took me downtown to play there all the time. When it came time to plan my Eagle Scout Project, I knew I wanted to contribute to the Imagination Station. As I began brainstorming, I remembered that there is a broken zipline in one of the Imagination Station’s corners. All that remain are four wooden posts. This was when I came up with Project DOOZCOWS (Demolition Of Old Zipline, Construction Of Wooden Structure). Project DOOZCOWS will consist of removing the four posts and replacing them with an eight-foot-tall wooden climbing pyramid. The pyramid will have climbing rocks on two sides, a climbing net across one side, and a rope incline on the other side. This project is expected to be completed by the end of summer.
To make this project possible, donations are needed. It is for this reason I am asking parents and grandparents whose children enjoyed playing at the Imagination Station, as well as others who played there themselves, to donate to this Eagle Scout Project.
The new structure will attract more children, bringing more families downtown. The increased traffic will bring more people to our local businesses, allowing downtown Brighton to continue to prosper. Again, I am asking for donations to help finance the building of the climbing pyramid that children will enjoy for generations to come. Any amount is appreciated, and all extra funds will be given to the city of Brighton for maintaining the Imagination Station.
