Imani Fuller's Road to Miss Old Gold and Black

Good Day All! My name is Imani Jatalia Fuller. I am a current senior at Georgia State University majoring in Criminal Justice with a concentration in crime and justice, while also having a minor in psychology. As a three time survivor of teen dating violence myself, I realized the strong need for advocacy, education and support in the African American community to attack this problem. I currently volunteer with the Women's Resource Center for Domestic Violence in Decatur, Georgia and have done my own hygiene drives for women in these shelters to remind them they are loved, cared for and most importantly, supported. Starting to see the impact my outreach has had on my community, I have decided to compete in the Zeta Mu Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated, Miss Old Gold and Black Scholarship pageant as it is my goal and vision to see stronger advocacy and support for the beautiful, African American collegiate women at Georgia State and the surrounding university communities who have had similar experiences to that of my own. It is my mission to ensure that women who have had unfortunate experiences with teen dating or domestic violence, before they came to college or during their time in college, are able to transform from victim to survivor through educational and healing programs, self defense seminars, and hygienic drives.

Join me, contestant number 4, to raise $2000 to ensure that my reign as the new Miss Old Gold and Black is not only for the school level, but to see this revolutionary initiative be able to stand proud and strong at the national level as well. The $2000 will go to the brothers of the Zeta Mu Chapter and for my own preparation for the pageant. Although the monetary amount may seem like a big ask, any amount that you are willing to donate and give is forever greatly appreciated!
